MENKAURE is a 24/7 real-time 3D reconstruction of the Pyramid of Menkaure at Giza — 530,289 blocks, built one by one in your browser, with multiple construction theory modes and full day/night cycles.
Not a recording or loop. Every block is placed in real time using a deterministic simulation based on Flinders Petrie's original 1880s survey measurements. The build runs continuously.
Three construction theories. Toggle between Mainstream Egyptology (the conventional narrative), Lost Technology (precision engineering evidence), and Precision Engineering (mathematical analysis) — each with unique visual treatments and educational overlays.
Browser-based. Built with Three.js and React Three Fiber. No downloads, no plugins. Runs at 60+ FPS in modern browsers. 530,289 instanced blocks rendered in real time.
Supports ScanPyramids. The project raises awareness for the HIP Institute's non-invasive muon tomography research, which discovered hidden chambers within the Great Pyramid without drilling.
How real-time visualization makes ancient construction tangible. The debate between mainstream Egyptology and alternative theories.
Rendering 530K instanced meshes in the browser at 60+ FPS. Three.js, WebGL, React Three Fiber, procedural generation at scale.
The growing Slow TV genre meets ancient history. A pyramid being built 24/7 as background content, study companion, or meditation.
Supporting ScanPyramids muon tomography research. Making non-invasive archaeological methods accessible to global audiences.
